We are very grateful that they have reached out to us to create and strengthen bonds within the school district. NHS students came to FES during our winter testing cycle to engage our students in some fun and relaxing activities. Then in April, other NHS students joined us to celebrate Read Across America. Each classroom had a 30 minute visit from a high school student who read aloud to the class. We recently received a flyer from the NHS promoting their next event on April 15th! We hope you are able to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. Please reach out to Harriet or Kat if you need assistance with the admission price. Dr. Forrest (Assistant Superintendent), Mark Swasey (ConVal Athletic Director - pictured above), Colleen Roy (GES principal), Dr. Lewis (School Psychologist), and Jennifer Swasey (School Counselor) read to multi-aged groups of students throughout the morning. The students then worked on an activity in these groups that focused on one aspect of Literacy. Students worked on fluency, sequencing, cause and effect, and rhyming. Since this week is also Art week, Mr. Shultz used the time for students to finish their sculptures and then share and critique them within their multi-age groups. It was a fantastic day filled with learning and community building! Perhaps it’s the extra time spent with students to ensure they develop a deep understanding of the material, maybe it’s the educator’s creativity or caring that sparks the joy of learning in a student, or maybe it’s the educator going the extra mile every day and deserves some recognition. Whatever your reason may be, the Contoocook Valley Regional School District is now taking nominations for teachers, para-professionals, and special service professionals for the 2018 “Outstanding Performance Awards.” The following positions are eligible for “Outstanding Performance” Awards:
