During its meeting on May 21st, the ConVal School Board expressed its support for Francestown to shift from traditional grade-level instruction to multi-age instruction. This is in alignment with the District’s Strategic Plan. FES plans to instruct students in two grade bands (K-2 & 3-4) as a pedagogical philosophy vs. a financial decision.
Thanks to the ConVal ATC department, FES fourth grade students spent some time in the Curiosity Cube. This is a mobile science lab that has been developed by MilliporeSigma and travels the country to deliver science lessons to thousands of children. The Monadnock Ledger-Transcript reported on this and FES staff and students were featured in the article.
On May 12, 2019 Charlotte from FES earned runner-up in the Elementary School Division poetry contest sponsored by the Peterborough Poetry Project. Congratulations, Charlotte!
The mission of the Peterborough Poetry Project is to promote the writing, reading, and thinking of poetry as part of everyday life. What does that mean? Writing poems is a way to have fun while sharing observations and insights with other people or just saving your poems to ponder later.
