Principal’s Page

Dear Community Members,

I am honored to become the next principal of Francestown Elementary School. I have fond memories of when I attended F.E.S. in my youth. I am excited to rejoin the community. I feel fortunate to join a community that cares so much for its children and a school that works to create authentic and valuable learning experiences for every child.

I have dedicated the last 20 years to the field of education creating meaningful learning experiences for children. Prior to working as your principal, I worked with many grade levels in different capacities. I spent most of my time teaching third and fourth grade at Greenfield Elementary School and Antrim Elementary School. I also spent some time teaching reading interventions for grades K-4. Before that, I worked for the Harris Center for Conservation Education. I have always enjoyed connecting children with learning outside their classroom walls and integrating those experiences into their everyday learning. I am thrilled to continue my work with the children at Francestown Elementary School.

On a personal note, I have lived within the ConVal School district for the last 20 years. I have three children. My 9-year-old is a fourth grader who loves to dance. I also have twin 5-year-olds. They will begin kindergarten in the fall. Our family loves exploring our community and spending time outside.

I am enthusiastic to build upon and grow the traditions and successes at Francestown Elementary. I look forward to collaborating with you and your children. If you would like to set up an appointment to discuss our wonderful school, I can be reached at rhill@conval.edu.

To better understand the Francestown Community I have written and Entry Plan. It outlines a sequence of activities that will provide me with an opportunities to learn from individuals representing staff, parents, and students, as well as some its community leaders.
